A bomb threat sent to Vanderbilt University has been deemed not credible by authorities.

University officials said that a template document began appearing over the Memorial Day weekend in several states.

The document was sent to fax machines and networked printers to locations around the country, including Vanderbilt University.

Five or six locations at Vanderbilt had reported receiving the threat as of Tuesday morning.

Any others who have received it were urged to contact university police at 615-322-2745.

Federal authorities were said to be investigating the incident.
