NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team is one win away from defending its NCAA Championship and fans have been invited to attend a watch party for what could be the final game.
The watch party is being held at Dudley Field, with gates opening at 6 p.m. The first pitch will be thrown at 7 p.m.
Despite a slow start, the Commodores downed Virginia 5-1 Monday night. The ‘Dores (51-19) need one more win to become the seventh team to win back-to-back national titles, and the third to do it in the last 10 years.
Virginia (42-24), the Commodores' finals opponent for the second straight year, scored in the ninth to end the Vandy bullpen's streak of 22 shutout innings.
