NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The northbound lanes of Interstate 65 were closed due to a crash and vehicle fire that killed two people and sent another to the hospital in critical condition.
The road was closed while emergency crews responded to the scene to extinguish the large fire. It happened at Exit 95 near the Alta Loma overpass at mile marker 95.
A commercial truck and passenger vehicle crash causing both to catch fire. And involved a commercial truck and a passenger vehicle.
Two people died at the scene and a third was transported to the hospital in critical condition with severe burns, according to the Nashville Fire Department.
The crash was reported just before 8:30 p.m. and is expected to be cleared by midnight.
Metro Nashville Police officials and Nashville Fire Investigators are on the scene investigating.
