A security guard has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing into two businesses in Madison.
Officials said the vehicle crashed into the glass windows of an Aldi Grocery Store and the Madison Beverage Warehouse around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
According to a police report, 77-year-old Birdel Hankins was working security at the liquor store because a break-in had recently been reported.
Hankins was in his car when he allegedly reversed and crashed into the two businesses. He was injured and taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Police said he admitted to consuming alcohol and was charged with DUI, his second offense.
Madison Beverage Warehouse would be open for normal business hours Thursday. The Aldi has been closed until further notice.
