Vehicle stolen during Mt. Juliet carjacking recovered in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A car that was stolen Sunday night during a carjacking at a Mt. Juliet movie theater has been recovered on Interstate 65 in Nashville.

Mt. Juliet police said the incident happened around 5:25 p.m. in the parking lot of Providence 14 theater when five teens in a gray Infiniti SUV robbed an 18-year-old of his 2018 Dodge Charger.

As the man got out of his car, the SUV pulled up and three suspects got out. One of them pointed a rifle at the victim and demanded his keys and wallet.

After the robbery, the suspects fled the area in both cars.

The victim’s car was later found on the side of Interstate 65 at Rosa L. Parks Boulevard. The other vehicle has yet to be recovered.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police said this incident was the 8th robbery and 46th stolen car report in Mt. Juliet for 2018. In 2017, there were 11 robberies and 52 stolen cars reported.
