Pleasant View Vice Mayor Drake Bruce was caught on camera threatening Mayor Perry Keenan during a City Council workshop.
"There was a lot of tension. It was stressful, to say the least," said Mayor Keenan.
What started out as a normal Pleasant View city council workshop, turned into something you might see on a reality television show.
In the video Mayor Keenan can be heard saying, "I appreciate your opinion."
Vice Mayor Drake Bruce then responded with, "You ever talk to me like that I'm going to whoop your a**. I'll tell you that much."
According to Mayor Keenan, tensions boiled over for Vice Mayor Drake after Keenan did not support Drake's nominated Parks and Recreation board candidate.
It was an outburst the Mayor said he never saw coming.
"It was terribly awkward, it was uncomfortable, it was embarrassing," said Mayor Keenan.
To make matters even worse, the Mayor's son watched it all unfold.
"My 8-year-old old son was here at the meeting, and when we left, I had to explain to him why someone said he wants to kick his dads butt," said Mayor Keenan.
NewsChannel 5 is learning more about the man behind the camera. Vice Mayor's nominated Parks and Recreation board candidate Danny Rediker.
"The thing that goes through your mind first as a man is you want to puff up and overreact. It's human nature anytime you're challenged. In all reality that's not who we are as a people here in Pleasant View," said Mayor Keenan.
As Mayor Keenan works to restore peace within Pleasant View, Vice Mayor Drake may have shared an opinion that may come with consequences.
"We're elected officials we were elected to serve the people. That's not just political speak, we need to be held to a higher standard and we need to act like it," said Mayor Keenan.
The Vice Mayor was not able to comment, his wife tells us he is in the hospital. The Mayor said Drake has not apologized.
