Video Of Brutal Broadway Beating Goes Viral

A cell phone video of a brutal beating on Broadway in downtown Nashville has gone viral and left police searching for information and suspects.

The video was posted to the Facebook page of an entertainment, celebrity news website, Mediatakeout on Sunday, and has been viewed more than 700,000 times.

WARNING: The video shows an assault that may be difficult to watch, and includes graphic language.

The beating happened in the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Broadway, and involved about a dozen people.

The fight begins as a brawl and includes several people, but it quickly turns to a few individual people leaving two men unconscious on the pavement.

The caption on the posted video said, “BRUTAL KNOCKOUT!!! Some Preppy Guys Start RUNNING THEIR MOUTHS In Downtown Nashville . . . And Got BRUTALLY BEATEN!!! (Wow…That Kick To The Head…He Could Have Been KILLED)”

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said they believe the video was taken on the night of October 7.

They found that date by looking through their calls for service and found one that matched up with the location.

Police said now that they've got this new information in hand, they’ll be talking to detectives that would have investigated this assault for more information.
