Nashville held a historic swearing-in ceremony for Vivian Wilhoite, the first African American woman to be the Davidson County Property Assessor.
Wilhoite won the position after beating out the incumbent during the Democratic primary in March.
With no one in the Republican primary, she ran unopposed during the primary election earlier this month.
The inaugural ceremony for swearing-in took place Wednesday afternoon at the Howard Office Building in Nashville.
