The lockdown at Vol State in Gallatin has been lifted after a report of a man with a knife near campus.

Police said they responded to the incident around 11:38 a.m. Thursday. Reports stated the man had entered the Sprint store across the street on Nashville Pike about 45 minutes earlier with a pocket knife.

Gallatin police said the man made statements that he was the "reincarnated devil from Las Vegas." He was wearing a black T-shirt with red lettering and black pants.

Authorities said the man left the store and there was no immediate threat or known danger to the public.

A shelter-in-place was ordered as a precaution. That lockdown has since been lifted.

On Friday, authorities said the man had been identified and located. They added the investigation was closed. Further details were not yet available.

Anyone with information on this incident or others in the area has been asked to call the Gallatin Police Department at 615-452-1313.
