NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Volunteers from several organizations worked together to help those in need in the Nashville community through the Second Harvest mobile food pantry.

The groups included Nashville Electric Service, Tennessee Valley Authority, Metro Police Department and Mt. Sinai Primitive Baptist Church.

They worked together to make sure people don't go without food and good nutrition in a South Nashville neighborhood.

Second Harvest worked to set up the mobile food pantry in conjunction with their partner agency, God Ministries.

Tennessee's First Lady Maria Lee has launched something called Tennessee Serves - an initiative to encourage adults and children around the state to volunteer in their communities.
