Walgreens Reportedly Eyeing Lower Broadway Store

Lower Broadway is known for its music echoing through the streets from the honky-tonks, but soon, a Walgreens could join the bars, restaurants, and western stores on Nashville's most famous stretch of road.

Walgreens is reportedly eyeing a store location on Lower Broadway, and according to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp., one of the locations being considered is the site of the FedEx Office at Third and Broadway.

While the store would add another shopping option for locals and tourists alike, some residents and businesses are not in favor of having a convenience store on Lower Broadway.

"I don't think it's a good fit," John Eden, a salesman at Trail West Boots across the street from the FedEx Office, said. "It doesn't fit in with the rest of the criteria down here, like the restaurants and the nightclubs and nightlife and stuff like that."

Walgreens has not made any public offers for a space on Lower Broadway, and as of this story, issued no formal statement to NewsChannel 5.
