Police have been searching for an 18-year-old who’s considered armed and dangerous after he allegedly robbed a 15-year-old.
Authorities said the 15-year-old had arranged to sell 18-year-old Dontavius Hawkins a pair of shoes through the letgo app.
The two planned to meet in front of a business in the 500 block of Providence Boulevard, and police confirmed the 15-year-old went to that area with another family member around 5 p.m. on June 1.
The teen briefly discussed the shoes with Hawkins, and then Hawkins snatched the shoes from the teen who was sitting in a car.
Hawkins ran around the building, and the 15-year-old chased after him. Authorities said Hawkins allegedly pointed a handgun at the teen at some point and warned him to run away. The teen stopped and called 911.
Warrants have been issued for Hawkins’ arrest, charging him with aggravated assault and vehicle burglary.
He was described as standing around 5’7’’ tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds.
Anyone who sees him has been asked to call 911. For those with information on the case, contact Detective Steinlage at 931-648-0656, extension 5472, or the Tipsline at 931-645-8477.
