Police in Clarksville said they arrested a man wanted for aggravated assault after he allegedly pulled a knife on a jogger.

The incident happened on November 7 around 4:20 p.m. when a 31-year-old jogger got into an argument with the owners of a large pit bull that wasn’t on a leash and was reportedly running toward the jogger.

Authorities said a man, later identified as 31-year-old Jonathan Ray Humphrey, pulled out a large knife. He walked toward the victim, which put the victim in fear for his safety.

Officials said the victim ran into a nearby convenience store, but Humphrey allegedly followed and yelled profanities before walking out.

On Thursday, authorities confirmed Humphrey had been taken into custody on Wednesday. He was found in a vehicle with three other people inside in front of a Cherry Tree Drive home.

Humphrey was booked into the Montgomery County Jail. He was charged with aggravated assault and was being held on a $25,000 bond.
