A man has been arrested in Waverly on a charge of rape of a child.
Reports stated Kenneth Stewart was taken into custody at his home on Hells Neck Lane around 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 28.
Authorities said Stewart was related to the victim who was less than 13 years old.
If the case is bound over to the grand jury, he could face more charges.
According to officials, Stewart appeared in court on July 3. His bond has been set at $200,000.
The victim’s mother and father reportedly came to court. The mother was arrested on a charge of coercion of a witness after allegedly accusing her daughter of lying and getting upset with her in court.
