NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — If you feel like you're overpaying for the internet you're using to read this article, you're not alone.

Ben and Julian Kurland had a similar feeling about five years ago. It is why they created BillFixers.

BillFixers steps in for its customers who do not have time to haggle their service providers.

"Comcast," Ben Kurland said. It's the company he and his brother felt was ripping them off.

"Then we realized people were getting ripped off on internet, TV service, phone service, everything from home security to satellite radio."

The Kurlands' business now has about a dozen employees.

"The big advantage is we just do this all day, everyday. We get to compare thousands of the same kind of bill and say this is the lowest possible rate you can get for this really specific internet package," Kurland said.

For their business clients, BillFixers acts as a middle man. For individuals, BillFixers acts as the customer.

"Security is important to us. We keep what we ask for at a minimum. We need a copy of the bill and then we get started," he explained.

The service essentially pays for itself. Any savings BillFixers gets, it splits with the customer.

"Not all companies are evil, but in my experience a lot of cable companies are evil. Anything we can do...take some money out of their pockets and give them to people who need it more is always fine with me."
