MT. JULIET, Tenn. – A crash on Interstate 40 involving multiple vehicles shut down westbound lanes in Wilson County.
Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the wreck happened around 2:39 p.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Exit 226 for Mt. Juliet Road.
Officers with the Mt. Juliet Police Department said the roadway was covered in debris, including nails.
Sunday afternoon, police posted the following video to social media showing the cleanup:

The roadway was closed to westbound traffic. Authorities said eastbound traffic was not affected.
Crews said the roadway was clear shortly before 4 p.m.
