Whitsitt Elementary school has added enrichment programs to its curriculum called Power Mondays.
Every third Monday of the month, community partners come to the school to teach lessons in STEAM and literature, while teachers participate in their own professional development programs.
The school was on the priority list of underperforming schools, but programs like Power Mondays have helped them get off the list.
