NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The widow of Sgt. Daniel Baker has asked everyone to “pay it forward” in honor of what would have been his 33rd birthday.
Baker was killed in the line of duty in May 2018 after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle in Dickson County. Two people have been charged in his death.
His widow, Lisa Schrock Baker, said in a Facebook live video that today is “Baker Policy Day” and urged others to pay it forward in his honor.
“I hope that today spreads joy and shows people that there’s still love in the world and that I have many, many stories to carry on to Meredith,” she said.
Schrock Baker said they’re going to continue this day of kindness each year. She said she would begin by paying for someone at McDonald’s and Dunkin’ Donuts and encouraged others to do the same.
“Happy birthday, Daniel. We miss you, we love you. So many people want to honor you.”
