NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Williamson County’s Dr. Mike Looney has been named Superintendent of Fulton County Schools in Georgia.

Looney had been considered a semi-finalist in the district’s search for a superintendent but was confirmed on Thursday. Williamson County school board member Jay Galbreath offered his congratulations to Looney on Facebook.

Looney has led Williamson County Schools for nine years.

The Williamson County School Board said they will name an interim superintendent at the board meeting this month.
