LEBANON, Tenn. – Wilson County Schools has hired a new director of transportation, two days after Tiffany Lowery was let go from the job.

Dr. Donna Wright, Director of Schools, announced the hiring of Jerry Partlow in a release Thursday.

Lowery was fired Tuesday after school officials said she failed to complete essential functions of the job and changed bus routes daily without notifying students or parents.

According to Wright, Partlow is a lifelong Wilson County resident and a former transportation director for the school system. He worked for Wilson County Schools from 1994 until 2000.

Partlow has served as Transportation Supervisor for Robertson County Schools for the past few years. Wright said he expressed interest in returning to Wilson County after learning the position was available.

“Drawing on his years of experience, we are confident Jerry will work diligently to improve the current operations of our Transportation Department by actively attracting drivers and supporting the current staff,” Wright said.

His first day on the job will be Thursday, September 24.
