Wilson, Dickson County Schools to return to hybrid schedules

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — As COVID-19 case count and positivity rates remain high, both Wilson County Schools and Dickson County Schools announced they'll be using a hybrid schedule.

Dickson County School officials said it would be extending the hybrid schedule model through January 29.

The district's status will be evaluated on a week-by-week basis and officials will make additional announcements so that families can plan appropriately.

"In order for us to get back to an in-person model, we all need to work together to reduce the number of cases in our community. Remember to Watch your distance, Wash your hands, and Wear your mask," the announcement stated.

Mondays & Thursdays of Regular 5 day weeks:
In person learning for:

  • All students in grades K – 3 (except those approved for remote programs).
  • All students enrolled in ERC classes grades K – 12.
  • All students assigned to the CES Social Skills classroom
  • Students in grades 4 – 12 with last names A – L. (Students with multiple last names in the family will follow the last name of the oldest enrolled student.)

Wednesdays of Regular 5 day weeks: Teachers will have planning & intervention time with remote groups who need additional time and supports.

Tuesdays & Fridays of Regular 5 day weeks:
In person learning for:

  • All students in grades K – 3 (except those approved for remote programs).
  • All students enrolled in ERC classes grades K – 12.
  • All students assigned to the CES Social Skills classroom
  • Students in grades 4 – 12 with last names M – Z. (Students with multiple last names in the family will follow the last name of the oldest enrolled student.)

Wilson County School officials announced that K-12 students will return to a hybrid schedule beginning Tuesday, January 19 until Friday, January 22.

Officials will re-evaluate next Wednesday, Jan. 20. They will then make a decision for the following week.

Face coverings are still required for all grades upon return to next week’s Hybrid model.

All grades have experienced the Hybrid schedule this school year. While there are no changes on what days students will attend (A/B days), families can still expect to receive additional information from their respective schools on the Hybrid plans set for next week.

  • Tuesday (1/19) is an “A” Day
  • Wednesday (1/20) is a “B” Day
  • Thursday (1/21) is an “A” Day
  • Friday (1/22) is a “B” Day

Exceptional Education Pre-K students will continue their current schedule into next week. Voluntary Pre-K will follow the Hybrid schedule. Should any Exceptional Education families have any questions about next week's schedule, then please feel free to contact your case manager or our Exceptional Education Department.
