A woman has been charged with stabbing a man while she was driving him down Interstate 440 in Nashville.
Latasha Jiles was arrested and charged with aggravated assault late Sunday.
Investigators said Jiles and the male victim got into a fight while riding in a car on I-440 a week ago. Metro Police said things escalated and Jiles pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the chest.
She pulled over and forced him to get out on the side of the road, police said.
The victim managed to climb down an embankment and yell for help. He was taken to an area hospital where he had to undergo seven hours of surgery. Police said he's expected to survive his injuries.
Jiles was also charged with theft of property for allegedly driving a stolen car at the time of the attack.
Investigators said they were able to identify Jiles as the suspect after doing a line-up with the victim, who identified her.
This is not the first time that Jiles was charged with stabbing someone. In January of 2018, police said she cut a man in the face and pepper-sprayed his wife. In 2014, Jiles was also arrested for cutting her girlfriend's arm with a knife while they were driving.
Jiles was being held in jail on $80,000 bond.
