NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A 22-year-old woman surrendered to police after admitting she was driving a Jeep that hit and killed a man trying to cross the street on Sunday night.

Metro Nashville police said 61-year-old Edward Kendell, who is wheelchair bound, was crossing Dickerson Pike near Duke Street outside a crosswalk when he was hit by a Jeep Latitude around 9:30 p.m.

The Jeep was later left in a parking lot a short distance away from the crash.
