NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police detectives charged a woman in the murder of a man in February in Nashville.

Police officials said in a press release 21-year-old Britney Lynn Foster shot and killed 27-year-old Joshua Ryan Steele of Joelton on Feb. 5.

Steele allegedly called Foster with a phone number listed in an online escort ad. When she got to his room at the Fiddler's Inn on Music Valley Drive, she said she was the woman pictured in the ad.

Police say Steele was shot less than an hour after he checked into his room at 10:25 p.m.

Police searched Foster's apartment and found a pistol in a master bedroom closet. Officers seized a cell phone, which after analysis, showed communication from Steele on the night of February 5.

Foster was booked into jail and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
