NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Inside her garage, a 25-year old entrepreneur and mother of three is preserving anything from ashes to funeral flowers, pet fur -- even breast milk in jewelry. Sierra Perea is owner of Mama Bear Milk Keepsake Jewelry. She says it all started when she wanted to buy her friend a gift.

"She was breast-feeding her child at the time," she said. "I was so proud of her for doing so good and wanted to have her some jewelry made."

Even small pieces were expensive, so Perea decided to make her own.

"I researched and researched," she said.

Now, she's got it down to a science.

"I finally found the chemical I needed to preserve the milk which I do live on Facebook," she said.

The milk is turned into a stone. She then grinds it into a fine powder.

"I create the stones to go in the jewelry," she said.

Customers send her items from all over the world.

"This one is a fallen soldier's uniform," she said.

Perea says being entrusted with their most precious keepsakes is priceless.
