NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The rain overnight caused problems on the roadway when a driver was injured after hydroplaning.

Authorities said the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries in the wreck.

This crash happened by the airport around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 40 East near Elm Hill Pike.

Officers on scene said the woman was driving a Kia Rio when it started to hydroplane causing her to lose control and leave the roadway.

Her car crashed into a steep embankment, and police were attempting to determine whether or not she swerved into a wall before going off the road.

No other vehicles were involved.

The woman was not responding by the time she was taken out of her vehicle and transported to the hospital, but officials said at last check her injuries were non-life threatening.
