NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman went to great lengths to stop a man from stealing her car in Nashville.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville police, officers were called to a residence on Falls Creek Drive on Monday.
A woman told police she parked her car and briefly went inside the residence. When she came back out, her car was gone.
Moments later, she said she saw the suspect driving her car down the street. She didn’t hesitate to confront him and jumped in front of the car.
Police said the accused thief slammed on the brakes, got out and threatened her with a knife.
The suspect, 54-year-old Ronald Thacker, told police he took the car to “teach her a lesson for leaving [the car] unlocked and running,” according to the police report.
He was charged with vehicle theft and held on a $10,000 bond.
