NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman was allegedly kidnapped, sexually assaulted and robbed when a man offered to give her a ride back to her motel in Nashville Sun., Aug. 9.

Christopher M. Murray, 49, was charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated rape and aggravated robbery.

Metro Nashville Police officials said in a press release that the woman's car had broken down and she checked into a Murfreesboro Pike motel while it was being repaired.

The woman, a 43-year-old woman from Hohenwald, reportedly walked from the motel to a market and while she was headed back to the motel, Murray offered her a ride.

She got into his Kia minivan and told police he drove her behind a church on Plus Park Boulevard, pulled a knife on her, sexually assaulted her and took her cell phone.

Police were called to the area Sunday morning when a resident reported hearing a woman screaming for help.

Video from surveillance cameras in the area helped officers ID Murray. He was charged and booked into jail on a $200,000 bond.
