Police have identified a woman who was killed in a late-night crash in Donelson.
The incident happened at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday on Donelson Pike and Allen Road.
Officials with Metro Nashville police said 54-year-old Dena Delores Jones, of Clarksville, was driving without her headlights on when she tried to make a U-turn.
She pulled into the path of an oncoming pickup and was struck in the driver’s side of the vehicle.
Police said Jones was not wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she died.
The other driver was not hurt.
According to police, the preliminary investigation shows failure to yield by Jones was the contributing factor to the crash.
