A woman was killed when the jet ski she was riding hit another boat on the Cumberland River.

According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency, a 39-year-old woman from White Bluff died in Wednesday's crash. Her identity was not released.

It happened just after noon in Ashland City. According to witness statements, she was operating a personal water craft and tried to cross the path of a boat when the two collided.

She was wearing a lifejacket and officials said there did not appear to be any alcohol involvement in the accident.

Both vessels were impounded by the TWRA in order to take pictures of damage. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
