NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning at the intersection of Brick Church Pike and Bellshire Drive.
Police identified the woman as a 49-year-old Nashvillian. They're continuing to notify her next of kin.
Police say the woman, who was driving a 2008 Pontiac SUV, was turning left from Bellshire Drive onto Brick Church Pike when she was hit by a northbound Dodge pickup truck driven by 25-year-old James Brooks.
The woman had a stop sign, but pulled out in front of the pickup. She was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she died. Police say the contributing factor to this fatal crash appears to be her failure to yield the right of way.
Officials say there was no evidence of alcohol/drug involvement in the crash.
