NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Metro Nashville Police officials asked for the public's help in identifying a man who raped a woman at gunpoint as she returned home to her apartment.
Police say on May 16, the victim parked her car at her apartment on Rosa Parks Boulevard around 3:15 a.m. As she was walking up a stairwell the man allegedly grabbed her from behind and told her he had a gun and would kill her. That's when she says the man forced her back into her car and sexually assaulted her.
She described him as being in his 20s with short "spikey" hair (possibly twists) and distinctive tattoos of small symbols near both eyes. He also has a tattoo on the back of one of his hands. He appears to be under six feet tall. She said he wore a red shirt with white print on the front, dark shorts, and pastel rubber sandals.
Anyone who knows a man matching the above description, who may live in the area where the rape occurred, was asked to call the Sex Crimes Unit at 615-862-7540, or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
