NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Nashvillians honored World AIDS Day with ribbons at the Lentz Public Health Center.

Visitors could write messages on red ribbons to remember those who have passed away or those still living with an AIDS-related illness.

Testing and counseling were also offered to anyone in need.

Organizers said they hope to change the community's attitude on AIDS.

According to the CDC more than 35-million people are infected with HIV or AIDs around the world every single year.
