Wrong-way driver charged with DUI in crash with semi on I-24

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Police have charged a driver with DUI in connection with a wrong-way crash on Interstate 24 in Nashville.

The collision happened shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday in westbound lanes near I-440.

Metro police said the driver was traveling the wrong way down the interstate and collided with a semi. The tractor trailer then crashed into the retaining wall, scattering debris into the eastbound shoulder.

The suspect’s name was not immediately known.
