Young Bedford County boy presented award for calling 911 during medical emergency

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A young Bedford County boy was recognized for his actions that potentially prevented a tragedy.

When a loved one was having a medical emergency, James "Jasper" Small kept his composure and called 911 for help. Jasper then aided first responders in finding the person.

Bedford County Sheriff Austin Swing presented Jasper with a BCSO commendation for bravery and BSCO challenge coin and patch for his actions.
