The legacy of a former coach has been set to live on in a big way.

Friday, Lipscomb Academy held a ribbon cutting for their new McCadams Athletic Center.

The 25,000 square foot indoor training facility was named in honor of longtime Lipscomb Academy football coach and administrator Glenn McCadams who passed away back in 2013.

Among the state of the art features was a climate-controlled turf, which was only one of three in our area.

"There is nothing like having a facility like this to bring confidence and pride in the work that you're doing, and it says something about the people and the adults who've invested in our students lives,” said Candice McQueen.

Coach McCadams was Lipscomb Academy's varsity football coach for 31 years.

He won 319 games and three state championships.

In 2015, he was inducted into the TSSAA Hall of Fame.
