NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Sarah Snell began her senior year with her plans set for after graduation. The Tennessee State softball star was going to become a Marine Corps Pilot.

That patriotic calling that wasn't derailed even when her stellar softball career was cut short this spring.

Snell was off to a great start, too. She was batting .304 and was on pace to leave her name all over the TSU record books. The second baseman's the program's all-time leader in walks. She was also on pace to break the career mark for assists, and to finish in the top five in hits, runs and stolen bases.

She was also on pace to break the career mark for assists, and to finish in the top five in hits, runs and stolen bases.

And she did all that on the field while being selected to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll four times, including as a junior when she held a perfect 4.0 GPA.

But now the Aviation Management graduate's hanging up her spikes to head to Basic Training and then Flight School. The chance to hop into a fighter jet and serve this country awaits.

And for that, Sarah, we salute you with this Curtain Call.
