Football has come back, and with it, there’s new security at Nissan Stadium.
Saturday night for the first preseason game, Metro Police officers took over security at the stadium.
The move came after some questioned the use of private security, but it was all in an effort to keep fans safer.
The new change was a welcome one by Nissan Stadium leadership. Instead of a mix of private security and off-duty law enforcement, Metro police have taken over as the law enforcement at Titans games and other events at the stadium.
Recent tragic events across the world made both stadium leadership and Metro police push to be more safety conscious.
Officials said they believe this was the best way to keep fans safe.
Some fans said they've noticed more officers at the stadium, including K9 officers.
The Titans have planned to pay Metro more than $14,000 per game, which goes toward more than 50 officers who will be working.
