The Tennessee Titans have promoted cornerback Kalan Reed from the practice squad after releasing Perrish Cox.

The team made the announcement Monday morning.

Cox, a veteran cornerback, was signed by the Titans in March 2015 and played 11 games this season.

Reed was selected as a seventh round pick from Southern Mississippi during the 2016 draft.

According to the team, Reed lived in Nashville for four years during his childhood.

He reportedly started playing football with the Flatrock Vols pee-wee team and at one point played during halftime of a Titans game when he was five-years old.
