Nashville Mayor David Briley has proclaimed Friday to be “Preds Pride Day” before the puck drops that evening at Bridgestone Arena. The Preds face the Winnipeg Jets in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Briley issued the proclamation Thursday and has made a bet with Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman.
“Under the agreement, the losing mayor – Mayor Bowman – will turn over full control of his mayoral Twitter account to the victorious Mayor for one hour, and I look forward to reaching out to the good people of Winnipeg in this manner,” said Mayor Briley.
The proclamation also recognized the Predators’ third consecutive year to reach the second round of the playoffs.
The Preds advanced Sunday night after beating the Avalanche 5-0, clinching the series 4-2.
