The date for the Nashville Predators' home opener has been set for October 14.
The Preds Tweeted Monday that the team will play the Chicago Blackhawks for the first game in Smashville.

The 2015-2016 season was a memorable year for the Preds as they forced the first Game 7 in franchise history against the Anaheim Ducks during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The team ultimately lost Game 7 to the San Jose Sharks in the next round.
