“John [Jancek ] and I had a long discussion this morning and we both came to the conclusion that it was best to part ways,” head coach Butch Jones said in part.
The university said the decision was mutual.
Jancek came to Tennessee in 2013 after being defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Cincinnati. The Vols finished the regular season at 8-4.
