Bad news for those of you who made New Year’s resolutions to eat less fast food this year. Taco Bell has just announced the return of nacho fries!

If you’ve never had the pleasure of eating nacho fries, you are in for a treat. Since 2018, nacho fries have been a fan-favorite at Taco Bell, and for good reason. This twist on cheese fries is made even better thanks to the added dose of spiciness on the fried taters, and it will have you looking askance at plain old French fries in the future.

Though they’ve only available on an intermittent basis in the past, the Bell’s nacho fries have quickly risen to cult status, and their return to the menu starting on Jan. 30 has overjoyed fans on social media.

Twitter user @miss_sweetleo89 says nacho fries just need to be on the regular menu already:

And Twitterer @RebeccaMeowtana says Taco Bell fans might need to take matters into their own hands if Nacho Fries keep disappearing:

And there is even more good news. Not only are nacho fries back, but Taco Bell announced they’ll also be tempting us with a new nacho fry flavor. While we don’t have the details of what this new nacho fry option is, we do have some ideas.

Taco Bell

Could it be the Vampire Steaked fries that Taco Bell tested in Chicago in summer 2019? Vampire Steaked fries were topped with steak, nacho cheese sauce, cheddar cheese, pico de gallo and “vampire sauce,” a spicy sauce with garlic and jalapeños.

Or how about Buffalo chicken nacho fries? These were tested in Taco Bell stores around Memphis last summer. The fries were topped with shredded chicken, buffalo sauce and nacho cheese sauce, plus shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream and pico de gallo.

Only time will tell, but we are eagerly awaiting the debut of these new nacho fries, as well as the return of the classic flavor.
