Officials with the Franklin Police Department confirmed the semi hit the Murfreesboro Road overpass. Authorities closed the overpass to all Murfreesboro Road traffic, but engineers with the Tennessee Department of Transportation have since deemed the overpass safe and reopened it.

Authorities said injuries appeared to be minor.

Debris could be seen scattered all over the southbound lanes.

The interstate was closed to southbound drivers, while traffic was diverted to alternate routes at Murfreesboro Road. Northbound traffic was not affected.

The scene was finally cleared around 2 a.m. Monday.
