Jack-Knifed Camper Stalls I-40 Traffic

A crash involving a vehicle hauling a camper has closed multiple lanes of Interstate 40 in Davidson County.

The wreck happened at 4:17 p.m. Thursday in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near mile maker 221 near New Hope Road, Old Hickory Boulevard, and Central Pike.

Authorities had not released any details regarding the cause of the crash. Those involved had minor injuries.

Eastbound traffic was initially reduced to one lane. Two lanes were open by 5 p.m. Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said westbound drivers were not affected.

Crews estimated the roadway would be cleared by 8 p.m.
