A crash in Southern Tennessee has shut down part of Interstate 24 near Chattanooga.
The wreck happened in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 166.
Authorities said nine vehicles, including a semi hauling batteries, were involved in the crash.
No word was released on any injuries that may have been involved.
Authorities confirmed the roadway in that area was closed to eastbound traffic. They added Highway 41 was also experiencing heavy traffic.
Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said they suggest drivers headed to the Chattanooga area take exit 155 at Dunlap to travel on Highway 111.
The roadway was not expected to be cleared until 8:30 p.m.
