A man was taken to an area hospital after allegedly crashing a stolen motorcycle in Montgomery County.

The incident happened around 6:07 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Peachers Mill Road and Taft Drive in Clarksville.

Officials confirmed a Harley-Davidson, driven by 28-year-old Aelix Santiago, of Antioch, ran into a Kia Optima, driven by 21-year-old Alicia Bamman, of Clarksville.

Witnesses told police the motorcycle was in the continuous left turn lane and passed other vehicles. Santiago then crossed over into the oncoming southbound lane, hitting the Optima.

Santiago was ejected from the motorcycle. He was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for serious injuries.

Authorities said an investigation determined the motorcycle had been stolen from the Hooters parking lot in the 700 block of North Riverside Drive.

Warrants have been secured on Santiago on charges of theft of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, simple possession, and not wearing a motorcycle helmet.

No further details were released.
