An overturned tractor trailer completely blocked westbound lanes of Interstate 24.
The crash in Rutherford County happened near miler marker 80 around 4:46 p.m. Sunday.
Authorities had not released details of the crash. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses on scene said the tractor trailer was stretched across the westbound lanes.
After 6 p.m. Sunday, crews had moved the tractor trailer to the side of the roadway.
Those with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said the roadway had been closed to westbound drivers, but two lanes opened after 6 p.m. Eastbound traffic was affected with rubbernecking delays.
Crews said the roadway was cleared after 7 p.m.
