Officials with the Wilson County Emergency Management have asked the public to avoid a portion of Bluebird Road due to an overturned tractor trailer.
The incident happened after 4 p.m. Friday in the 3300 block of Bluebird Road between Peyton Road and the Interstate 40 underpass.
Officials said the truck driver was trying to avoid traffic on I-40 by taking a back road.
However, the truck swerved off the roadway when one of its tires went off road the road.
No injuries were reported. The truck was carrying synthetic rubber material.
Officials asked drivers to seek alternate routes. They added the tractor trailer had been leaking fuel.
Crews estimated the roadway would be cleared by 10 p.m.
