SMYRNA, Tenn. – Two people were injured and charged with a DUI when a truck hauling a recreational travel trailer overturned in Rutherford County.

The wreck happened around 3:50 p.m. Sunday on Highway 231. According to officials, the driver of the Chevy Silverado, identified as 38-year-old Chere Oaks, attempted to go around a curve when the vehicle left the road.

That’s when the driver over-corrected, causing the vehicle to jack-knife and rollover, blocking the roadway.

Oaks and a passenger, identified as 46-year-old Brian Hughlett, were both injured but refused treatment.

Oaks was charged with a DUI, and Hughlett was also charged with a DUI for allowing Oaks to drive. Hughlett was charged with violation of bonds conditions as well, according to authorities.
